Viewing your IFC models

Header Menu:

2D - View the model in two-dimensional plan view.

Orthographic View - Activates the view with orthographic perspective. Orthographic view maintains all dimensions proportionally, regardless of their distance from the observer.

Focus on Object - Focuses the view on the activated object, or if no object is activated, then on the entire model.

First Person View - Activates a view where the view rotates around the camera's location. Opposite to the standard view, where the camera rotates around the cursor's location.

Floor Plan - Opens the floor plan window. Clicking on the floor plan moves the model view to the corresponding location. Selection of floor plan floors is done using elevation marks.

Hide
- Hides the object by clicking on it. Hidden objects can be made visible again by selecting "Show All" from the right-click drop-down menu.

Slice
- Allows making a cross-section of the model.

  • Turn on "Select Slice" and click on a wall, roof, or other object along whose axis you want to make a section.
  • Then, a panel appears on the right edge of the screen, which you can drag with the mouse to change the depth of the cut.
  • More than one slice can be made.
  • Active sections are also displayed on the top command bar, where they can be removed or modified.
  • To remove all sections, select "Slices" from the command bar and "Remove All" from the drop-down menu.

Measure - Opens the tool for creating measurement chains.

  • Multiple different measurement chains can be drawn on the model at once.
  • To remove a measurement chain, right-click on it and select "Remove."
  • Right-click also provides options to display the measurement chain's axis and hide the measurement chain's markers.
